Let Us Hear What They Can't Say

There are days we all get busy,
and we fail to stop and see,
that someone close around us,
is hurting silently.

We need to look for signs,
of pain and loneliness,
and reach out in love and kindness,
to ease their time of stress.

As one Body under Christ,
we cannot close our eyes,
to those who serve beside us;
we must seek to hear their cries.

It only takes a moment,
to look closely at their face,
and see the hurt or anger,
that we might help them to erase.

Our world would be much better,
if we would start right here and now,
to look at one another,
as Jesus would, somehow.

He wouldn’t pass us over,
with a silent nod or two...
He would look into our very soul,
and say, "Child, I’m here for you."
