Tears From Heaven

In one quiet moment, I heard Him cry,
and in my silence, I prayed, Lord, why?
Then I envisioned the cause of His plight...
the children He died for, are blinded in sight.
Forgive us, dear Jesus, for causing You pain,
and refusing to honor Your life and Your Name.
Your heart must be broken from tears You have wept...
please help us remember, Your price for our debt.
The mercy You offer is more than our worth,
we've broken commandments, corrupting the earth.
Yet still you defend us and call us by name...
forgiving our sins and erasing our shame.
Thank You for bearing the weight of our sin,
and calling us back to You, time and again.
Your tears fall from heaven and into our hands...
preparing our hearts for the promised land.
