God bless the beasts and everything in
His furred and feathery animaldom
Blessed be the earth and skies
And everything that crawls and flies
The whales in the sea, the forests and deer
God bless the creatures we eat and wear
Bless them in pain, forgotten, alone
So mute with no voice of their own
Be thankful for your daily food
For you milk and eggs and shoes
Remember that honey comes from a hive
Remember everything alive
Bless the poor dog with the sorrowful eyes
The sewer rat just trying to survive
They are but strangers in a strange land
Animals in the kingdom of man
