Sea Foam by: Lisa G. Leming
|
A storm has stirred the ocean waves
Into a foam around my legs
As I walk aimlessly along
A beach a long, long way from home
And then it's carried out again
Into the vast and wide ocean
Shiny bubbles in the surf
Floating farther from the earth
You love the little children so
The old, the blind, the rich and poor
The slighted and illiterate
And every last unfortunate
Papa surely has your love
Mama too and God above
The green, green grass and deep blue sea
And everybody else but me
For I am just the froth and foam
That comes and goes after a storm
And walks alone, along a beach
With tangled seaweed on my feet
